Art is alive and well in New York City. It's famous for those classic rom-com movies we all grew up watching. Even if you're not a cinephile, we're sure you and your sweetheart will look like movie stars when you do a movie-themed photoshoot to celebrate your engagement. Show off your personalities as a couple, like the main characters you truly are!
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
The up-all-night, event-filled city of New York is the star of this movie. In Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Kat Dennings and Michael Cera play the title characters, two teens who happen upon each other in a Manhattan club. They hold hands, write songs, and sing in the rain. If you're a music-loving couple, this movie would be so cute to recreate! Parts of the movie were filmed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Lower East Side, and the Village.

13 Going on 30
You're in luck, because the Y2K trend is here to stay. What better movie to remind us of the good times than 13 Going on 30? It's pure nostalgia! Plus, it's a classic New York film. The movie is about Jenna Rink, a teenager who is sprinkled with magic dust, and wakes up as a 30-year-old living in Manhattan with a fancy editorial job. Aside from the iconic New York locations, the fashion well represents the 2000s era. Jenna Rink was not afraid of color! She's rocking a hot pink baguette bag, chandelier earrings, spiky buns, and a cardigan set.

New York Minute
New York Minute stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as estranged twin sisters from Long Island. The two go on a fun adventure together in Manhattan. You and your boo are definitely not twins, possibly twin flames, but you could definitely dress up in those I heart NY shirts and pretend you're in the movie. The filming locations are also a great way to see the city: Columbia University, New York City, New York, 7th Avenue, and West 46th Street, Manhattan.

You've Got Mail
The main characters in this film met in a chat room on AOL, but it's a story about a city that’s always changing. The magic of You've Got Mail is located on New York City's Upper West Side. Visit Riverside Park, the spot where Kathleen realizes (spoiler alert?) Joe has been NY152 all along. Cafe Lalo, at 201 West 83rd Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, can probably still serve you a "Mochaccino decaf, nonfat" just like Kathleen. Take photos with a rose and book to complete the look!

Serendipity
Sara, played by Kate Beckinsale, and Jonathan, played by John Cusack, met in New York. Magic was in the air and the two decided to test their fate because they were both seeing other people. If you want to experience the magic they felt, visit Bloomingdale’s in Midtown Manhattan, near Central Park and the Roosevelt Island Tramway. Gloves shopping optional!

There are plenty more movies set in New York that you can get inspiration from. We suggest doing a movie marathon of these NYC films we just mentioned so you can fall in love with the city! Life isn't a romantic comedy, but you and your lover are just as magical as the city. New York City is for the artists, after all.
